Serena Williams meets her wedding planner in New Orleans

Tennis star Serena Williams is secretly making plans to wed the millionaire entrepreneur father of her baby daughter in a romantic ceremony in New Orleans, DailyMailTV can exclusively reveal. New mom Serena and Reddit co-founder fiancé Alexis Ohanian took a private jet day trip from her Florida home to meet with their wedding planner in the Big Easy early Monday morning. After a day of discussing arrangements and looking at prospective venues, the couple arrived home in time to see six-week-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. before bed-time. The 36-year-old Wimbledon favorite and holder of 23 Grand Slam titles looked in great shape, so soon after the birth of her first child, as she arrived in the city wearing black leggings and a black leather motorcycle jacket over a t-shirt emblazoned with the word ‘pretty,’ with the ‘r’ crossed out. And while she left her daughter at her multi-million dollar home, near Palm Beach Gardens, Serena did bring along her beloved mini Yorkshire Terrier, Chip, who regularly appears in her social media postings. Chip appeared to be enjoying the trip as well as the cute little pup was spotted wearing a black vest and riding in the front seat of the couple’s private car. Ohanian was also pictured playing around with the furry pet and was seen hoisting the dog ‘Simba-style. ‘Serena, regarded by many as the greatest female tennis player of all time, and her 34-year-old husband-to-be, considered a number of venues and spent more than an hour inside Meril, an upscale restaurant, in the city’s warehouse district, owned by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. They were joined by a wedding planner and are believed to have discussed menu options and other arrangements for their big day, which Serena herself has hinted would be before her planned return to tennis next January at the Australian Open. The star athlete won the 2017 Australian Open while secretly pregnant with her daughter and recently revealed that the initials of the baby’s name AO, for Australian Open, reflected the triumph. Her victory at the tournament was actually reason she believe she was having a girl, she said in an interview with Vogue. ‘Two weeks after we found out [about the pregnancy], I played the Australian Open,’ she said. ‘I told Alexis it has to be a girl because I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way. ‘Although Serena has been busy basking in the new joys of motherhood, she publicly said she has no plans to retire from tennis any time soon. ‘I don’t think my story is over yet,’ she recently said in an interview with Vanity Fair. The magazine states that the wedding would be this autumn, but Serena has kept mum about the exact date or where exactly it’ll take place. It’s unclear why the couple seem to have chosen New Orleans as the location for the wedding, but it could be just because the couple is a fan of the city’s famous French-Creole culture and architecture. Weeks after giving birth, the tennis champ has been keeping her millions of fans up to speed with baby Alexis’s early days with regular Instagram posts and pictures. Serena recently shared adorable selfies with her baby girl on Snapchat, where she is seen softly kissing her daughter on her forehead. The Olympic Gold medalist revealed that she spent six days in the hospital after Alexis’s arrival due to complications, but didn’t go into detail about what type of complications the athlete experienced. She and the 6ft 5in tall Brooklyn-born Oharian secretly got engaged last Christmas, having met 12 months earlier at the Italian Open in Rome. While still at college, Ohanian and a friend came up with the concept for Reddit, a website self-described as ‘the front page of the Internet,’ in which users interact and respond to a myriad of topics that interest them. The number of users went up rapidly, and, in 2006, 16 months after launching it, he and Huffman, still in their early 20s, sold the company to Condé Nast  for a reported $10 to $15 million.
